Our approach: store as little as possible

DealCrawler is built around data minimization. We hold only what the tool needs to do its job: listing data drawn from eBay (titles, prices, computed margins, and the rules-based risk signals), and your own operator account and settings. We do not build advertising profiles and we run no third-party ad or analytics tracking.

Seller usernames are salted-hashed, never stored in clear

Seller usernames that appear on listings are salted and one-way hashed before storage — they are never written to our records in readable form. The hash lets the tool recognize repeat sellers across listings without keeping a marketplace seller's handle in plain text. We do not attempt to re-identify any seller from these hashes.

What we store

Listing and deal data from eBay: item title, price, your computed resale margin, the fair-market-value estimate, and the rules-based risk signals — kept for your own accounting and deal history.
Your operator account: your email address (used to sign in and contact you) and your saved settings (alert threshold, per-brand filters, and similar preferences).

Self-hosted fonts, no CDN calls

The interface serves its fonts and assets from our own server. Loading a page does not call out to a content-delivery network or third-party host, so your visit is not exposed to outside trackers through those requests.

Your data rights (including erasure)

You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to erase it, at any time. Consistent with the GDPR right to erasure, an erasure request soft-deletes your account record and removes your personal data. Data retention

Deal and listing records are retained so you can keep an accounting trail and review your own deal history over time. When you request erasure of your personal data, your account details and any data that identifies you are removed; aggregate, non-identifying deal facts may be retained for the tool's history.
